Disclaimer: Update at your own risk! It worked fine for me coming from Stock version v9.0 found here on needrom.com
This ROM is ONLY for Oukitel K4000 PRO (not for Oukitel K4000 standard)
It's not my work. The ROM was found in 4pda.ru Oukitel k4000 Pro forum, you can search for it. Use Chrome browser and Translate option if you don't speak russian. And don't forget to thank whoever provides what you use there.
I only took and changed the MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt file and the preloader_hct6735m_35gu_l.bin from the v9.0 ROM as the ones provided in the v5.0 didn't work. Beware of the naming: v5.0 IS NEWER than v9.0 (see the dates)! Don't ask me why they went back in numbering and then have a "newer" v6.0 …
ROM Oukitel K4000 Pro – Android 5.1
Official ROM Oukitel K4000 Pro version: Stock_Oukitel_K4000pro_v5_20160907
Finally a ROM that takes away the flickering of the screen on my Oukitel K4000 Pro!
Installation:
1) Have the MTK drivers installed (beware to install them AFTER disableing drivers signature security in windows, settings/update and restore/advanced restart/choose "change the way windows starts/then when your pc restarts choose option number 7) -> Disable drivers signature verification/restart pc AND install drivers, accepting install anyway whenever the red windows appear)
2) Using the provided SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1552.00.000 (it worked for me with this version, but it might work with other versions as well), install the Stock_Oukitel_K4000pro_v5_20160907_ok ROM pointing the scatter-loading option to the MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt file within the folder you extracted the ROM to.
Then select "Firmware upgrade" from the "Download only" list, click on the "Download" arrow-down icon.
3) Ful Power Off your phone and connect it to your pc. You should hear the connection sound, then after a couple of seconds the upgrade should take place. Wait until the green vu/ok window appears, then you can disconnect your phone and restart it.
(If it's the first time you upgrade your phone using SP Flash Tools, drivers might install when you connect the powered-off phone, so you might have to restart your pc after they were installed and restart the whole process after your pc rebooted.)
If all went well, you'll see a brand new nice looking ROM, and NO MORE SCREEN FLICKERING, yes! (At least on my phone)
4) Update through the official OTA Update app (you can also use the provided update.zip using the option "Local updates" in the Update app) to v6.0 dated 11.28.2016 and you'll have the latest firmware installed! At least from what I know. Post here if you know of a newest firmware, thanks.
I was very upset by the flickering screen, it was very disturbing when using the phone. Too bad they didn't provide an OTA update… Apparently they have two different options for the ROMs:
1) v4.0, v6.0 20160130, then v9.0
2) v3.0, v5.0, then v6.0 20161128.
You can of course root the phone by installing SuperSU through the TWRP provided here on needrom.com. Search is your best friend!
